Try-Out for our 2026-27 Surrey League Teams

We are holding an Open Try-Out session for our Surrey League Teams on Sunday June 7th starting at 10:30am. (although we will be checking players in from about 10:15am).

The deadline for team entries is earlier than ever for next season, so we need to have a clear idea of peoples commitment to playing on a team as soon as possible, so please make the session if you can and in any case let us know about next season. Club members book on SPOND, non-club members click on the [Bookings] button on the home page.

This is for Surrey League only at the moment due to the urgency of getting league entries arranged, the Volleyball England Grand Prix age group team try-outs will follow in due course.

If you have any question speak to one of the coaches at training.

VBDC Welcome Guest coach

England International Sam Peters runs a hitting workshop.

VBDC Volleyball Club were delighted to welcome Sam Peters as a guest coach for a hitting workshop.

Sam is a former George Mason University (USA) and University of Nottingham player who was in fact on their team that played in the Super League match against London Malory at ACS Egham. He has since gone on to play professionally in Romainia. Not surprisingly, as a middle hitter, his session featured a breakdown of hitting delivered and tailored to our beginner, intermediate and advanced groups.

VBDC host Jersey men's team.

VBDC Volleyball Club hosted the Jersey Island men's team in a fantastic match.

Our U18's (+ one player slightly out of this age range) did the club proud in securing a thrilling 3-2 victory.

A big thank you to Elizabeth, Mark and Bob for officiating.

We are already looking forward to a reciprocal trip to Jersey in the near future.

Neurodiversity Sessions

The club, along with our sponsors Volleyball Development Camps (www.vbdc.co.uk) and the award-winning charity F6it (www.f6it.org) continue to run sessions for disabled and neurodivergent young people at our Haslemere training venue The Edge.

This has proved to be a hugely rewarding activity for both the difference it makes to the young attendees as well as the session coaches and we would wholeheartedly recommend getting involved in similar partnerships.

With more than 10 hours of training each week and teams competing in the Surrey Volleyball League and also the Volleyball England Junior Grand Prix it is a busy time for our players and coaches.
